If you don’t have a scale that measures in kilograms, you can convert pounds (lbs) to kilograms by dividing your weight in pounds by 2.2. To convert feet (ft) and inches (in) to meters, multiply your height in feet by 0.3048 and add your height in inches multiplied by 0.0254.
  2. Square your height in meters by multiplying it by itself.
  3. Divide your weight in kilograms by the result from step 2.
  4. The result is your BMI.

For example, if your weight is 70 kg and your height is 1.75 meters, your BMI would be calculated as follows:

BMI = 70 kg / (1.75 m)^2 = 22.9

According to the World Health Organization, a BMI between 18.5 and 24.9 is considered a healthy weight, a BMI between 25 and 29.9 is considered overweight, and a BMI of 30 or above is considered obese. However, BMI is just one measure of a person’s health and should not be relied on solely to assess health risks. Other factors such as body composition, waist circumference, and overall lifestyle should also be taken into consideration.
